General Information

Ringer Soak community (population 160) is located approximately 172km south east of Halls Creek. Travel 120km along the Duncan Highway until you reach the signed Ringer Soak Turnoff, then travel 52km to Ringer Soak. The drive from Halls Creek to Ringer Soak travels through the beautiful ranges out of Halls Creek past lovely waterholes, and then out onto the Black Soil plains and grasslands which are prime cattle grazing country. Closer to Ringer Soak you will pass Sturt Creek wetlands and over the Gordon Downs (abandoned station) range.

The community has a Store, School, Clinic, Administration office and new Art Centre.

Saturday 8:30 to 11:00
Sunday CLOSED

Store deliveries are fortnightly on Fridays and are transported to Ringer Soak by Desert Yard Transport Halls Creek Ph: 08 9168 6208.

Art Centre:

No specific opening hours at present.

Waste Disposal:

The tip is located 1.2km North of Community left hand side of main road

Diesel is available for sale (no other fuel) through the office Monday to Friday within office hours.

If you require unleaded it can be purchased at Flora Valley Station.

Any community issues or correspondence should be forwarded to the chair person through the community office, so that it can be tabled at council meetings.

Mail Plane every Thursday at approximately 10:00am. Each Department is responsible for its own mail drop off and pick up Please bring all outgoing mail to the office before 9:30am on Thursday and collect your incoming mail after 11:00 am.

Passenger tickets for the mail plane can be booked through the Kununurra Visitor Centre 08 9168 1177 (cost per person $160.00)

The community experiences isolation during the wet season (Dec – April). During this time tracks around the community should not be traveled as they can be very hazardous. The Duncan Hwy and Gordon Downs road are often closed during this time. Road reports are available from the community office during opening hours or alternatively contact the Halls Creek Shire 08 9168 6007.
